Postdoctoral scientist in the fields of advanced materials, and catalysis (2 Positions)

Project Description:

The Nanotechnology Centre, and Centre of Energy and Environmental Technologies, at the VŠB–Technical University of Ostrava are seeking highly motivated, ambitious and interdisciplinary post-doctoral scientists in the fields of nanomaterials and catalysis. The ideal candidates should have a strong background in the field, evident from their publication record. The synthesized materials will be thoroughly characterized and tested for targeted applications, focusing on various fields of catalysis. The successful applicants will become part of a focused and motivated international team with exceptional infrastructure available on-site.
  • The position is in the frame of the Pathfinder OPEN Glas-A-Fuels, MERGE and Refresh projects.
You will contribute to the design, synthesis, and mechanistic understanding of functional materials, and evaluate their performance in targeted photocatalytic and energy-conversion processes. Required Qualification:

Essential Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering or similar:
  • independently solving complex scientific research tasks in their field,
  • actively publishing high quality scientific articles,
  • conducting independent research and collaborate with other members of the research team,
  • excellent scientific writing and communication skills in English
  • data collecting for specific project outputs and their completion,
  • participating in the implementation of collaborations within research projects
