Postdoctoral Fellow position in Energy-efficient Quantum Materials-based Magnetic Tunnel Junctions for Unconventional Computing Applications
Project Description:
- Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for the Post-Doc Fellow position (1) under the
mentorship of Assistant Professor Dr. Lakhan Bainsla (PI) in the Department of Physics at the Indian
Institute of Technology Ropar. The candidate will work on the project entitled “Energy-efficient
Quantum Materials-based Magnetic Tunnel Junctions for Unconventional Computing
Applications” funded by MeitY under the MeitY-NSF scheme. The candidate should have a strong
background in the development of magnetic thin films and heterostructures, spin-orbit torque
measurements and analysis, and a basic understanding of quantum materials and their potential
applications in spintronic technologies. The advertised position is part of a prestigious MeitY–NSF joint project. The selected candidate will engage in close collaboration with leading national and international research groups involved in the project. This role offers an excellent platform to build strong professional networks, gain international exposure, and develop valuable leadership and collaborative research skills
Required Qualification:
Essential Qualification:
- Ph.D. degree holders in Science or Engineering (or those having their thesis submission certificate), with expertise in experimental condensed matter physics. The applicant should have completed PhD within the past 5 years.
- Age : Below 35 years on the last date of submission of the application (Relaxation as per funding agency norms).

Contract duration:
- Initially for one year, extendable up to 06 months based on the performance or until the project’s completion, whichever is earlier.
Benefits:
- Emoluments : Fellowship Rs. 67000/- per month + 9% HRA per month.
