Postdoctoral Position in Pharmaceutical Sciences
Project Description:
- The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scholar. This position works closely with the Principal Investigator to identify the endogenous molecular factors and downstream signaling mechanisms regulating arterial lymphatic vessel formation and their role in the development of atherosclerosis, hepatic steatosis, and other cardiometabolic diseases. The project involves the use of multiple genetically engineered mouse models, in-vivo gene transfer, molecular biology techniques, as well as various biochemical, functional, and cell biology assays.
Responsibilities
- Conduct molecular biology assays (including western blotting, PCR, flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry).
- Perform physiological analyses.
- Maintain and perform in vitro cell culture experiments (primary and cell lines).
- Carry out animal surgical and tissue dissection procedures.
- Contribute to project planning and the development of research protocols, ensuring adherence to sound scientific principles and compliance with all relevant federal guidelines.
- Draft and edit manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Provide guidance to other postdoctoral fellows, students, and other research personnel on research techniques, procedures and other technological aspects of experimental work.
- Present research findings at scientific meetings at local, national, and international levels, and develop postdoctoral fellowship applications.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
