Postdoctoral Researcher Position in Experimental Rock Mechanics
Project Description:
A two-year Postdoctoral Researcher position is available with Dr. Manab Mukherjee, Discipline of Earth Sciences. The extension of the tenure in the second year will be based on candidate’s performance in the first year. The candidate is expected to carry out research in experimental rock mechanics.
- The candidate will be working on the mechanical response of virgin and mineral carbonated basalts.
- Experience with rock deformation setup is necessary.
- The candidate will also work on high pressure reactor, working knowledge of flow reactor is
desirable but not mandatory.
- The project will involve treating basalt specimens with CO2 in a pressure reactor and conducting deformation experiments of virgin and reacted basalt specimens.
Required Qualification:
Essential Qualification:
- PhD in Earth Sciences or allied streams, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or Materials Science from reputed institutes with experience in rock deformation experiments and with a good publication record.
- Candidates who have submitted their thesis are equally eligible.
- The percentage/grade points with respect to the academic qualifications will be a minimum of 60% or equivalent grade from Graduation onward and 55% or equivalent grade in class 10th and 12th.
Preferred Qualification:
- working knowledge of flow reactor is desirable but not mandatory.

Benefits:
- Consolidated salary range of Rs. 72,000/- to Rs. 84,000/- per month depending upon the qualification.
