Research Associate-I position in Assessment of mineral tonnage using measurement of specific gravity/bulk density

Project Description:

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the areas of geomorphic and sediments characteristics. The selected candidate will carry out research with Prof. Vikrant Jain, Department of Earth Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, and will be funded under the Project “Assessment of mineral tonnage using measurement of specific gravity / bulk density”. Required Qualification:

Essential Qualification:

  • A Ph.D. degree in Earth Sciences or a closely related discipline with specialisation on the fluvial geomorphology.
  • Doctoral research in areas aligned with geomorphic and sediments characteristics will be preferrable. Candidate should have good field experience in the area of geomorphology.
  • Candidates must have a good academic record with a minimum of 60% or equivalent grade from Graduation onwards and 55% or equivalent grade in Class 10th and 12th.
  • Candidates should have completed their Ph.D. in the above or closely related areas. NET or GATE qualification is desirable.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Apart from research, the applicant will be expected to contribute to other academic activities of the Institute, including teaching and student mentoring.

Contract duration:

  • The position is available up to 6 Months from the date of appointment, or until the sanctioned funding is exhausted, whichever is earlier.

Benefits:

  • Total emoluments: Rs. 45,000/- p.m. (Consolidated)
