Research Associate - III position in Programmable Engineering of Tetrahedral DNA Nanostructure Based Biosensing Interfaces for Ultrasensitive Detection of miR 155 in biological samples
Project Description:
- Applications are invited for a temporary position of Research Associate III at IIT Gandhinagar.
- The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and developing tetrahedral DNA nanostructure (TDN)-based programmable biosensing interfaces for the ultrasensitive detection of microRNA biomarkers (miR-155) in biological samples. The project involves interdisciplinary research at the interface of nanobiotechnology, electrochemistry, and molecular diagnostics.
Required Qualification:
Essential Qualification:
- PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Life sciences, Nanosciences, etc. with 0-2 years of relevant postdoctoral experience from reputed institute with good academic track record in terms of research and publications. Candidates with direct relevance to biosensing will be given preference.
Preferred Qualification:
- Design, synthesize, and functionalize tetrahedral DNA nanostructures (TDNs) and engineer them into
programmable biosensing platforms.
- Develop and optimize electrochemical biosensing strategies for ultrasensitive nucleic acid detection.
- Perform surface modification, biofunctionalization, and signal amplification strategies for enhanced sensing performance.
- Interface nanostructured biosensing platforms with biological samples (e.g., serum, plasma, or cell-derived samples) for validation.
- Utilize advanced characterization techniques such as electrochemical analysis (CV, EIS, DPV), AFM, DLS, SEM/TEM, fluorescence spectroscopy, and related tools.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, prepare scientific reports, and contribute to high-impact publications and project deliverables.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and engage with academic/clinical partners for translational aspects of the project.
