Junior Research Fellow position in Characterization of Groundwater Depletion Induced Land Subsidence as a Function of Aquifer Properties by Spaceborne Geodetic Techniques including DGPS Observations and Dual Frequency NISAR

Description:

  • Applications are invited for the project “Characterization of Groundwater Depletion Induced Land Subsidence as a Function of Aquifer Properties by Spaceborne Geodetic Techniques including DGPS Observations and Dual Frequency NISAR” under the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT (BHU), from qualified candidates for the following position. Please note that PI is free to set the benchmark and call only the eligible candidates for Test and/or Interview for any position. Further, PI also reserves the right NOT to fill any of the posts advertised, in the event or exigency so decided without assigning any reason thereof.

Required Qualification:

Essential Qualification:

  • Post Graduate Degree (M.E./M.Tech.) in Water Resources/Geoinformatics/Remote Sensing & GIS/Engineering Geosciences or M.Sc. degree in Geoinformatics/Remote Sensing & GIS, Geography/Geology/Applied Geology, Earth Sciences or equivalent and must have qualified GATE/ NET or any national level examination conducted by central government departments or institutes like DST, IIT, ISRO etc.
  • Age : 30 years

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience in SAR image processing, DGPS observations, GIS/Remote Sensing tools, and programming (Python)
  • knowledge of groundwater modelling preferred.
